CONGRATULATIONS TO THE EASTON HUSKIES (Massachusetts) for defeating the Albany Athletics (Upper New York) by an 8-1 score in the 2008 AABC North Atlantic Regional Championship at Central Park A Diamond. The championship tilt was a rematch of the 2007 Regional title game on Long Island between the Huskies and Athletics. Both years Easton came out on top and advanced to the AABC National World Series in Huntsville, Texas on August 13-17. Easton (41-1 overall) was also the only team to hand the Athletics (34-12 overall) two losses in the 10-team Regional event this year which was hosted by the Albany Twilight League at Bleecker Stadium in Albany and Central Park in Schenectady.

Albany Twilight League

The Albany Twilight League has been bringing baseball to the Capital Region since 1930 when founder George Elwell first organized the league. As the oldest amateur baseball league in the country, the ATL has been proud to showcase the Capital Region's best talent. Throughout its 78 years of existence the league has been the place for existing and former college players, for former minor league and major league players to continue their playing experiences long after the conclusion of their professional careers, and has been the starting point for many minor league and major league players.
